We have kids!

Well…. this is a little overdue but an update at least. We have kids and had them for my birthday! What a present! Colette started off the festivities with triplets around 2 am - 2 bucks and 1 doe. Unfortunately the 2 bucks came very close together and the first one didn’t get cleaned off in time and got too cold by the time I was able to make it to the barn. However, the remaining buck and doe were strong and looking good. Kanaya finished off the day around 6 pm with quads! 2 bucks and 2 does. We had to pull all 4 kids as they were all trying to come out at the same time and the first buck was big and blocking the canal. All 4 kids were strong and looking good as well.

Colette’s buck has gone to his new home as a bottle baby and will be shown in 4-H at the Coles County Fair. Her doe is a prospect for addition to the herd - just giving her some time to see how she continues to grow.

Kanaya’s buck kids are available for consideration and would make great 4-H wethers. I can’t believe how big the first born buck is - he’s long and muscular and would show great. Her 2 doelings are also up as prospects for addition to the herd. Trying to decide on who and how many to hold back. Always a hard decision.

New to the farm …. we purchased an additional doe - AM Rose Strawberry “aka” Cali. She is bred and due to kid April 11th with twins. Praying for another smooth and easy kidding to wrap up the season.

Pictures to come :)
